Absence injustifiée de Djemba-Djemba
Les dirigeants d`Aston Villa ont annoncé vendredi être toujours sans nouvelle du Camerounais Eric Djemba-Djemba , éliminé de la Coupe d`Afrique la semaine passée. Initialement attendu mardi à Birmingham, le joueur fera l`objet d`une sanction disciplinaire de la part de son club.
« Nous l`attendions mardi, mais il n`est pas rentré, a expliqué O`Leary. Nous n`avons pas pu entrer en contact avec quelqu`un susceptible de nous dire où il est actuellement. Il y a une bonne chance que son salaire soit allégé à la fin du mois », a déclaré le manager d`Aston Villa, David O`Leary. Celui-ci comptait bien sur son milieu de terrain pour affronter Newcastle, samedi.
« Au final, il pourrait même être en situation de rupture de contrat, mais c`est quelque chose que le club devra traiter si c`est nécessaire et au moment opportun, a-t-il ajouté. Nous allons bientôt pouvoir coller des affichettes pour savoir où il est », a poursuivi O`Leary. Le Cameroun a été éliminé de la Coupe d`Afrique en quarts de finale par la Côte d`Ivoire, samedi dernier. L`ancien joueur de Nantes et Manchester United vit une saison difficile à Aston Villa où il ne parvient pas à s`imposer. Il n`a joué que quatre matches et n`a été titularisé qu`à une seule reprise.
