Lions dealt legal threat
Bundesliga side Cologne have threatened to sue the Cameroon FA after Rigobert Song`s late return to Germany following the African Nations Cup.
The German outfit had expected Song to be back ready for training on Thursday, although after skippering The Lions to Nations Cup success at the expense of Senegal in the final last Sunday, the former Liverpool defender failed to show.
Cologne director Wolfgang Loos is unhappy with the handling of the situation after Song missed their match against Werder Bremen as a result of his late return. According to FIFA regulations, Song should have re-joined his Cologne team-mates 48 hours after the Nations Cup final, but after the Bundesliga side allowed him to stay with his African colleagues to celebrate, Song later reported he had a cold.
Loos has said he will ask the German FA to support him and press for legal action against the Cameroon FA.
