Queiroz decision delayed
The South African football authority, Safa, have delayed a news conference where they will announce a decision on the future of coach Carlos Queiroz.
The news conference, will now hold on Monday 18 February.
No reason was given for the postponement.
On Saturday, Safa held an executive committee meeting in Johannesburg, and discussed the future of the Portuguese trainer.
The meeting also focused on the Bafana Bafana`s disappointing performance at the African Nations Cup in Mali.
South Africa had two nil-nil draws against Burkina Faso and Ghana but defeated Morocco 3-1 in the first round games.
Care-taker coach
Bafana Bafana were the bundled out in the quarter-finals by hosts Mali with a 2-0 defeat.
The team`s elimination in the last eight led to a rise in opinions on the fate of Queiroz.
But when the team arrived from Mali, some Safa officials, including president Molefi Oliphant, said it would be unwise to sack Queiroz.
Their argument is that dismissing the coach, just few months from the World Cup, would have disastrous consequences.
But those in favour of Queiroz`s sack want Jomo Sono to take the South African side to the World Cup in Korea and Japan.
Sono, care-taker coach in 1998, took the team to win silver in the Nations Cup same year.
South Africa, on for a second successive World Cup, are drawn against Spain, Slovenia and Paraguay.
