Nigeria`s Yobo not daunted by `Group of Death`

    MARSEILLE

Nigerian defender Joseph Yobo is not concerned by the prospect of playing England, Argentina and, possibly, France in the World Cup finals.

``I wouldn`t be afraid to play France and I`m not worried about England and Argentina either. These will be great matches to play,`` the Olympique Marseille player told Reuters on Friday.

Nigeria have been drawn in the so-called first round ``Group of Death`` along with Argentina, England and Sweden, and they could meet world champions France if they reach the last 16.

``Nigeria will be very ambitious in Japan,`` Yobo said.

The Nigerians were beaten 2-1 by Senegal in the African Nations Cup semifinals last week. Nigerian fans, upset after the defeat, demanded an overhaul of the team, which was expected to defeat Senegal.

But Yobo was unconcerned about possible changes to the squad.

``I feel the Nigerian selectors trust me. I have a place in the team and I mean to keep it,`` he said.
