DR Congo `free to play`
Congo Kinshasa have re-instated sacked football federation vice-president Constant Omari, paving the way for Fifa to allow them to play international matches again.
The decision means the Simbas are clear to play in the African Nations Cup.
Last November the country`s government sacked Constant Omari for criticising sports minister Thimotee Moleka in a television programme.
Fifa, which believes in the autonomy of all football federations from their respective country`s governments, immediately stated that if Omari was not given his job back, the country would be banned from all international matches.
Fifa argued that Fecofa is one of its elected members the government has no right to sack Omari.
Now Omari has been re-instated, Fecofa have advised Fifa that football in the country has been normalised.
This means, says Omari, that the Simbas are "free to play."
