Liberian players risk being thrown off team
MONROVIA
Liberian players risk being thrown off the national team for the African Nations Cup this month because of high financial demands, the country`s football federation (LFA) said on Saturday.
LFA president Edwin Snowe told a press conference certain professional players were demanding too much money. "We don`t accept such behavior and we are ready to throw them off the team if we have to," Snowe said.
Zizi Roberts and Oliver Markor, who play in Greece, and James Debbah, who plays in the United Arab Emirates, are threatening to boycott the January 19 to February 10 event in Mali if their demands are not met.
