Former Kumbo Strikers president wants transferred players returned
Former Kumbo Strikers president, Lawrence Tasha has in a lawsuit called for the cancellation of what he said was an irregular transfer of two players, Embola Betah Sandje and Atem Velentine, from his former D1 club.
The suit, filed at Bui High Court collectively against the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, D1 club, Mount Cameroon FC Buea to which the players were transferred and the current president of Kumbo Strikers, Fai Napoleon says both players should be returned to the team, which Tasha quit as president last year.
Tasha’s counsel, Barrister Akuwiyade, argued in the suit that the amount both players were supposed to have been transferred, 1.5 million FCFA was far below what they had earlier refused to necessitate the transfer adding that there was no raison d’être for their movement since the team, that just survived relegation despite being the Cup holders badly needed them.
Both players have been playing with Mount Cameroon FC for the current football season that ends soon.
While FECAFOOT and Kumbo Strikers is still to react to the suit, Barrister Ngu Gordon, counsel for Mount Cameroon FC has said the Bui High Court was incompetent to handle the case. He also challenged the competence of the complainant since Tasha was no longer the president of the club.
Hearing has not yet been scheduled.
