Cotonsport picks first ever semi-final ticket
Cameroon representative in the CAF clubs cup competition, Cotonsport of Garoua have qualified for the semi-final of the competition after beaten their opponent Ferroviaro of Mozambique 1 – 0 in Garoua on Sunday, Septembre 24.
It is the first time the Garoua club is picking up a semi-final ticket after four participation in African inter-clubs competitions.
In the away leg encounter played a fortnight ago in Beira (Mozambique), the cotton farmers from the Northern Province of Cameroon were forced to a 2 – 2 tie.
Meanwhile, the encounter pitting another Cameroon representative, Kumbo Strikers to Avizo of Gabon counting for the African Cup Winners Cup earlier slated for Sunday, September 23, was postponed to Monday, September 24, due to heavy rains in Douala (the economic capital of Cameroon).
In the away leg match in Port Gentil (Gabon), Kumbo Strikers, beat their host Avizo 1 – 0.
