Mboma and Job make squad
Cameroon coach Winfried Schafer has named both Patrick Mboma and Joseph-Desire Job in his 23-man World Cup party.
Schafer has largely kept faith with the same players who clinched the African Nations Cup in Mali in February.
Of the Nations Cup veterans only defender Jean Dika Dika, who is on the books of Portuguese side Unaio Lamas, was left out with a knee injury.
He is replaced by Pierre Njanka Beaka of English side Portsmouth, who missed the Nations Cup through injury.
Five strikers
But Middlesbrough forward Job also makes the squad after a year out of the international set-up.
Job, who has spent the last few months on loan to French side Metz, was one of five strikers in the party.
He is hoping a good performance for the Indomitable Lions on the world stage will earn him a move.
Mboma, who is on loan at English Premiership side Sunderland, has been suffering from an Achilles tendon injury.
History
There were major doubts about his health, but Schafer has decided the former African Footballer of the Year has recovered enough to make the trip to the finals.
Cameroon are drawn in Group E at the World Cup along with Germany, Ireland and Saudi Arabia.
The Indomitable Lions made the quarter finals of the 1990 World Cup - the furthest any African team has gone.
They will make history this time too as the continent`s first side to appear at five World Cup tournaments.
