Tunisia call up Adailton
Brazilian midfielder Perreira Adailton, whose naturalisation was granted last year, has been called up by new Tunisia team coach Henri Michel.
As the Tunisians prepare for the African Nations Cup, to be held in Mali in January, and the Korea/Japan World Cup finals next summer, former France and Morocco boss Michel has named a 22-man squad with eight foreign-based players.
Michel said: "We don`t have time to experiment and the best option is to start with those who qualified for the two championships. But it is not a closed list and additions could still be made."
Veteran goalkeeper Chokri El Ouaer, who plays for Genoa in Italy, heads the foreign legion which includes Hassen Gabsi, Khaled Badra, Imed Mhedhebi, Turkey-based Zoubeir Beya, Riadh Bouazizi, striker Abdel Sellimi and Ajax Amsterdam`s Hatem Trabelsi.
African Champions League semi-finalists Espérance of Tunis supply six players including Brazilian Adailton. The others are Mohammed Zouabi, Walid Azaiez, Radhi Jaidi, Sirajeddine Chihi and Mourad Melki. From Club Africain come Kaled Ghodhbani, Ziad Jaziri and Emir Mkademi.
Tunisia are in what has been termed as the Nations Cup`s `Group of Death` with fellow World Cup qualifiers Senegal as well as Egypt and Zambia.
