Rigobert Song’s contract under negotiation
West Ham(English Premiere club), irregular defender and captain of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song Bahanag, has been linked to a move to FC Cologne (Germany) on loan for the rest of the season.
The defender, who has struggled to establish himself at Upton Park following a number of indifferent performances, has been targeted by the German side, with reports suggesting they want to take him on loan initially with an option to buy the Cameroon international outright if he impresses.
The former Liverpool defender, who moved to The Hammers in a £2million deal from Anfield following the sale of Rio Ferdinand last year, had vowed earlier in the season to stay and fight for his place but it seems his days at Upton Park could be numbered.
A few months back the 25-year old Cameroonian defender announced his departure from international competition to concentrate in club competitions.
SonExcept a miracle, Song who would captain the current African champions to the Africa Nations cup in Mali and World cup in Japan/South Korea next year, has participated in two final phases of World football Cups.
