Morocco take on Zambia
Morocco seek to put the disappointment of missing out on World Cup qualification behind them as they continue their preparations for the African Nations Cup finals with a friendly against Zambia on Wednesday.
The match in Rabat is the first at home for the Atlas Lions since their 1-0 defeat in Senegal in early July which cost them a World Cup spot.
Coach Humberto Coelho has named a squad of 20 for the game, including two uncapped players.
New caps
Moncef Zerka, from Nancy in the French second division, and Dutch-based Nourredine Boukhari from Sparta Rotterdam are set to make their debuts in the match at the Prince Moulay stadium.
The squad also includes captain Noureddine Naybet from Deportivo La Coruna in Spain and 13 other foreign-based players.
But again Coelho has left out Mustapha Hadji from English premier league club Aston Villa, while calling up Youssef Safri from Coventry City in the first division.
Hadji out
Hadji has not played since choosing club over country last May when Morocco had a vital World Cup qualifier in Algeria.
His former club Coventry were playing in a relegation match, which they lost to Villa where Hadji subsequently moved.
Wednesday`s match follows participation last month in the four nations tournament in Mali in which Morocco finished second.
There are a further three matches scheduled for the Atlas Lions before they head off to Mali again.
Officials said they would play in December against either Gabon, Mali or Togo at home, then meet Angola on 12 January and conclude their preparations against the Gambia on 15 January.
Morocco are paired with Burkina Faso, Ghana and South Africa in group B of the Nations Cup finals in Mali.
