Davids: I don`t want to leave Juve
SAINT VINCENT
Yesterday Juventus gathered to start their summer trainings, and general manager Luciano Moggi confirmed that there won`t be any new arrivals, even if rumours are very different (Dacourt and Olic appear to be aims for the black and white club). The only absentsees were Buffon, Del Piero, Iuliano, Zambrotta and Pessotto (who will join their teammates on Sunday). But Lilian Thuram and Edgar Davids, who are still in the middle of many transfer rumours were also present. The Dutch midfielder especially denied his intention to leave: "I don`t want to leave, but the management want to sell me. I never had contact or an agreement with AS Roma. I`m happy here with Juve, with the scudetto on the jersey. Moggi can`t be worried about me because he made an agreement with another team, even if I decide my future on my own".
Manager, Marcello Lippi is happy at the large number of players at his disposal, although he has confirmed that it will be necessary to make a few cuts. At this moment cuts appear to be going to way of Uruguayan goalkeeper Fabian Carini and defender Marco Zanchi. But Lippi is also counting on the re-found fitness of Salas, Montero and Tudor, three players whom he considers to be important for this season in which Juventus will have many aims, top of the list being the scudetto and the Champions League.
