Suffo given his marching orders
Cameroon`s Patrick Suffo is looking for a new club after being transfer-listed by Sheffield United following Saturday`s firey clash with West Bromich Albion.
Suffo was one of three players sent off in a bad-tempered clash which eventually had to be called off eight minutes from time.
West Brom were leading 3-0 when the game was abandoned because United were left with only six men on the pitch, following the red cards and two injuries.
Suffo and George Santos had both received their marching orders after coming on as second-half substitutes.
Suffo was sent from the pitch for head-butting the West Brom skipper Derek McInnes.
The incident left the Sheffield manager Neil Warnock seething and he immediately placed Suffo on the transfer list.
"I have no complaints about the sendings off and we are going to have to deal with that as strongly as we can," Warnock said.
"I don`t think George will ever play for us again and Patrick Suffo will be transfer-listed.
Warnock also told the Sheffield United website that Suffo had apologised for his actions.
"But I have taken this decision with immediate effect," Warnock concluded.
Both Warnock and the Sheffield United chairman Derek Dooley agree that West Brom should be awarded the three points, and await the football authorities decision on the result, which is expected on Thursday.
The Professional Footballers` Association deputy chief executive Brendan Batson said the referee, his officials and the police would all have an input into that hearing.
