Cameroon: FECAFOOT makes public a new football schedule
The Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) has slated the end of the 2000 – 2001 football season for November 25, 2001 with the national football cup.
According to the schedule, the national elite championship which has six more days to go is expected to wrap-up on October 14, 2001 if the following schedule is respected.
On August 26, the 25th day of play
- August 29, the 26th day of play
- September 2, 27th day of play
-September 26, 28th day of play
- October 7, 29th day of play
- October 14, 30th day of play
The eight teams involved in the cup of Cameroon raise will (Mount Cameroon, Canon, Union, Dynamo, Cintra, Racing, Fovu, Kadji S A), clash for the first leg and return leg of the quarter-finals on September 16 and 30 respectively. While the away and return leg semi-finals have been slated for October 21 and 28 respectively.
For international rendez-vous, Cotonsport of Garoua, Cameroon representative at the CAF cup competition will play their away leg quarter-finals on September 9 and return on 23rd.
Though the above calendar gives an idea of what the rest of the football season in Cameroon will look like if respected, it does not however include the international outings of Kumbo Strikers, Cameroon representative at the cup winners competition and a programme for the annual round robin tournament “interpool” that usually involves champion teams from the ten provinces.
