Castle Cup, negotiations for Lions participation on track
The Corporate Affairs Director of the Kenyan Castle Brewing Company, Joe Wanjau, has said there are still negotiating for the participation of the current African champions, Cameroon to this year`s four nations competition known as the “Castle Cup”.
Speaking to journalist, he said, the firm was making frantic efforts to confirm Cameroon`s participation in the games which kick off on October 24th in Mwanza, Tanzania. In case the African champions fail to show-up he added, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), from West African would likely replace them.
The tournament brings together the three East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and a guest team from other parts of Africa.
Last year`s event which was won by Uganda featured the Black Stars of Ghana as the guests.
Meanwhile, it is likely Cameroon would not honour the rendez-vous as its preparatory programme ahead of next year nation cup does not include the tournament.
