Danes end Cameroon`s unbeaten run
Cameroon`s 10-month unbeaten run ended in Copenhagen last night after they were beaten 2-1 by Denmark in a World Cup warm-up game.
It was the African reigning champions` first defeat under German coach Winfried Schaefer and it brought home to them the magnitude of the task ahead in the next few weeks.
An own goal by Manchester City defender Lucien Mettomo gave the Danes an early advantage and although the Indomitable Lions roared on the attack in search of the equaliser, Joseph Desire Job, Salomon Olembe and Francis Kioyo all missed good chances.
Determined to give their fans a happy farewell before flying to South Korea, the Danes increased their tally on the hour mark after Cameroon`s big defender Raymond Kalla fouled Claus Jensen in the box. AC Milan-bound John-Dahl Tomasson calmly beat Alioum Boukar from the spot.
Kioyo crashed a shot onto the upright and spurned a few more chances before Modeste Mbami scored a consolatory goal for The Lions.
Cameroon will complete their preparations with a friendly game against England in Japan next week.Hits: 1 | Source:Teamtalk
