Suffo goes from villain to hero
He reached one of the lowest points in his career on 18 March after being involved in a mass brawl in an English first division game dubbed the `Battle of Brammal Lane`.
The game was abandoned after home side Sheffield United were reduced to six players following red-cards and injuries.
Suffo was one of three players sent off.
He head-butted one of the opposition players from West Bromwich Albion.
His behaviour caused United`s manager to immediately put him on the transfer market and to vow that he would never play for the club again.
Wish come true
But Suffo appears to have put that behind him after a convincing display against Argentina in Wednesday`s World Cup warm-up in Geneva.
He headed home the equaliser five minutes from time to give the Indomitable Lions a well-deserved draw and a major confidence boost.
Argentina are considered one of the World Cup favourites.
"It was a special day - I was so happy", said Suffo.
"The fact that we didn`t lose is very important.
"I was so young when we first played Argentina in the 1990 World Cup.
"To play them is a dream come true. They are still the same big team today as they were then."
Cameroon caused a major upset when they beat the South Americans 1-0 in the opening game of Italia `90.
Suffo says coach Winfried Schaffer was happy with the way they played, but thinks they can do better.
"Next month we play Austria," said Suffo, "and we`re just looking forward to that."
