Strikers in last four
Cameroon side Kumbo Strikers finally booked their place in the semi-finals of the Cup Winners` Cup after twice being frustrated by the weather.
Two goals by Franklin Takang midway through the second half gave Strikers a 2-0 win over Evizo of Gabon, which made it 3-0 on aggregate.
Evizo were surprise quarter-finalists, but were up against it after losing the first leg at home.
The match was originally due to have been played in Cameroon`s commercial capital Douala on Sunday, but was first postponed to Monday and then Tuesday because of heavy rain.
Strikers have been in indifferent league form, placed midway with only 18 goals in 27 games, but they have done well in continental competition and have high hopes of a place in the final now.
They take on Angolan side Inter Clube, while the two strongest sides left in, Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa and Club Africain of Tunisia, meet in the other tie.
The first legs are on the weekend of October 12-14, with the second legs two weeks later.
