Radebe reveals World Cup `dream`
Leeds defender Lucas Radebe has insisted his career is "far from over" and is focussed on winning a call-up to South Africa`s World Cup squad.
Whites boss David O`Leary suggested that the defender`s career may be over due to his persistent knee injuries - brought on by excessive travelling as well as playing - but Radebe says this is not the case.
Radebe still harbours hopes of playing in next summer`s World Cup finals but right now is concentrating on the more immediate target of a reserve match for Leeds.
He said: "I`m working very hard, it`s good to be back in training again.
"It`s important that I don`t take any risks with the knee and I`ll leave it up to the medical people to decide when I am ready.
"My career is far from over, I still haven`t given up hope of playing at the World Cup finals next summer but that`s a long way off.
"All I`m concerned about at the moment is getting myself fit and then playing a reserve game for Leeds, then we can take things from there."
If everything goes according to plan, Radebe may well get a reserve match within the next two weeks and will then target a first-team return.
