Mali stage dress rehearsal
The new stadium in Sikasso will host Group B
Mali have decided to stage the Amilcar Cabral Cup in more than one venue for the first time in the competition`s 22-year history.
In January the Malians will play host to the African Nations Cup finals, and the Cabral Cup will be used as a rehearsal to test facilities in place.
Three of the five cities being prepared for the Nations Cup - Sikasso, Segou and the capital Bamako - will be used for the Cabral which will kick off on November 3.
The opening group matches will be played in Bamako in the first two days of the eight-team tournament, but games will be shifted to the other venues until the finals.
Mali, the hosts, will be based in Segou alongside, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania and invited Benin.
Title holders Cape Verde, Sierra Leone, Senegal and Gambia in Group B will be based in Sikasso.
These are the eight permanent sides who play in the Cabral Cup except Benin are replacing suspended Guinea.
The Guineans were banned indefinitely by Fifa following government interference in the running of the federation.
