Cameroon face stadium ban
Cameroon face having their main stadium banned from use after a match official was struck by a missile during the Caf Cup final.
Algerian club JS Kabylie clinched an historic third Caf Cup victory at the Ahmadou Ahidjo ground in Yaounde on Sunday.
But the final was marred by an injury to Tunisian linesman Taaufik Oueslati, who suffered a gash on the side of his head with only two minutes gone.
Oueslati had to be taken off the field on a stretcher and the final was held up for 25 minutes while he received treatment.
He later returned to his post, swathed in bandages and completed the match.
Algerian player Samir Djouder was also struck on the leg by a sharp stone thrown from the main stand.
The Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium is unlikely to be allowed to stage further matches by Caf, who has recently stamped down on crowd violence.
In October, it banned the Rouiba stadium in Algiers from all international and continental club matches after a similar attack on the referee at an African Cup Winners` Cup semi-final.
Caf has also suspended stadia in Ghana and Zimbabwe for one-year periods because of crowd trouble.
Possible punishment for the Cameroon Football Federation will be discussed on 10 December when Caf`s club competitions committee meets in Cairo.Hits: 1 | Source:BBC
