Djemba-Djemba slams former Aston Villa boss
Eric Djemba-Djemba has launched an attack on former Aston Villa Football Club boss David O’Leary.
The Cameroon international is on loan at Burnley after failing to make an impression at Villa Park following a move from Manchester United, and perhaps for the first time in England, he is happy to be here.
However, he cannot forget how he was overlooked by O’Leary during last season in the Midlands, and has revealed how many Villa players were glad when the Irishman was replaced by Martin O’Neill.
"I`m happy because I`m playing again, I`m working again," Djemba-Djemba told The Daily Mail. "I`ve lost my place in my national team and I`m not playing at the top level. It has been embarrassing. But I`m very happy to be here.
"David O`Leary was never straight with me and, of all of them, he is the one who has hurt me. A lot of the players were very happy when he left. It is different with Martin O`Neill. He is straight, and so is Steve Cotterill.
"Honesty is all you can ask for."
