Doumbe gets late Cameroon call-up
Defender Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe has been given a late call-up to the Cameroon side facing Egypt in their final World Cup qualifier.
Doumbe, who plays for French Ligue One side Rennes, is to replace Benoît Assou-Ekoto who made a sudden withdrawal.
Assou-Ekoto, a Lens defender, is born to a Cameroonian father and French mother but has never played for the Indomitable Lions.
Meanwhile, the squad will begin training on Tuesday for the weekend`s game.
They were to begin training on Monday but the Europe-based players, who form the bulk of the squad, are yet to arrive in the country.
Fecafoot, Cameroon`s football federation, are hoping for a sell-out crowd of 40,000 at the Yaounde game.
Each fan who buys a ticket will be given a green t-shirt, as the authorities want fans of the Lions to appear in the team`s colours on matchday.
Cameroon must defeat Egypt in order to make their fifth consecutive appearance at next year`s World Cup finals.
