France honours Foe
Marc-Vivien Foe will be honoured by the French League in a charity match scheduled for 11 November.
Match proceeds will go to the family of the Cameroon midfielder, who died in June following a Confederations Cup match, and to a sports centre he was building in Cameroon.
French League president Frederic Thiriez said the match will take place in either Paris, Lyons or Lens.
"We are organising the match to help the family of a great player and also to keep alive his project of creating a sports foundation in Cameroon," Thiriez told the French sports daily L´Equipe.
The match will feature members of Cameroon´s national side and a team made up of Foe´s former team mates at Lens, Lyon and probably Manchester City.
Cameroon will be coached by Winfried Schaefer, while France coach Jacques Santini - who knew Foe from his time as Lyon coach - will take charge of the other team.
Foe collapsed with a heart problem during the Confederations Cup semi-final against Colombia in Lyon on 26 June.
