Diouf arrives at Anfield
El Hadji Diouf has reported for duty with Liverpool after completing his £10m transfer from French club Lens.
The Senegal striker was put through his paces with his new team-mates at the club`s Melwood training ground on Tuesday morning.
He has signed a five-year deal with Liverpool and the club will complete the formalities of the transfer by registering him with the FA.
Diouf joined Lens in 2000 after playing in France with Sochaux and Rennes.
He scored 10 goals in the French league last season and agreed his move to Liverpool during the World Cup.
Diouf was named in the World Cup All-Star team after helping Senegal progress to the quarter-finals.
He was joined in training at Melwood by fellow summer signings Alou Diarra and Bruno Cheyrou.
His Senegal team-mate Salif Diao, who played for French club Sedan last season, has agreed to join him at Liverpool later this year.
Despite having signed four players and being close to adding another - Lee Bowyer - Houllier said he was looking to bring in more players.
"I`m quite happy with the business we`ve done, but it`s not finished yet," Houllier told the Liverpool Echo.
"When I`m looking for players, my priorities are always talent, work rate and team spirit.
"I believe I have found players who match those requirements. Cheyrou is a left-sided player who will need to get used to the English game.
"Sometimes that can take weeks or even months, as Robert Pires showed, but he is a very gifted player who can play in several positions.
"El Hadji Diouf comes in for Nicolas Anelka because I have always said I want four or five strikers and we have five now.
"I have been busy, but a number of clubs have brought in three or four players and there will be more signings before the season starts."
