Schaefer moves to UAE
Former Cameroon manager Winfried Schaefer has signed a two-year deal with UAE clubside Al Ahli.
The 55-year-old German flew to Dubai for talks on Thursday and signed a lucrative two-year contract, worth an estimated US $250,000 per year.
Schaefer admitted that his decision to join the club, after just three days of negotiations, was very sudden.
"I actually only wanted to go there for talks and then fly home," Schaefer told a German magazine.
"But we quickly agreed terms and the club management wanted me to stay here."
Schaefer has been out of work since 17 November.
He was sacked by Cameroon`s sports authorities after the Indomitable Lion`s 3-0 defeat to Germany, the 2006 World Cup host.
