Geremi settles with `Boro
Middlesbrough midfielder Geremi Njitap is enjoying the challenge of playing in England.
The Cameroon international has created a real stir in the North East of England with his inventive play.
Geremi`s last two years with Real Madrid were frustrating ones, as he was frequently left on the bench.
He admits that the nightmare in Spain drives his hunger to leave a lasting mark on the Premiership.
"I came here to play and to enjoy football," Geremi told BBC Sport Online.
"So when I see how everything is going, I am very happy."
Geremi`s move from Real Madrid has got off to a great start
That Geremi has quickly settled in to his new team is not in doubt.
One of the reasons for the Cameroonian`s recent success is his versatility.
"I have a little advantage, in that I can play anywhere," he claimed.
"But that can also be a disadvantage, because you can`t find your position.
"At my current club, we have a manager who plays the way I want, and the team are playing in a manner I enjoy."
Geremi appreciates his new surroundings and believes leaving the bright lights of Madrid for Middlesbrough`s sleepier charms is not a bad thing.
"Little by little, I`m getting to know more, like a few restaurants where I eat sometimes.
"But the quietness of the area is important too, because there are not too many distractions.
"After training, you just go home and rest."
His dedication would be a welcome comfort for `Boro`s ardent supporters.
