Sellimi recalled as Tunisia opt for experience
Tunisia joint-coaches Khamies Labidi and Ammar Souayah named an experienced squad for the World Cup on Monday, with veteran striker Adel Sellimi continuing his reintegration into the set-up since the departure of French coach Henri Michel.
Sellimi put his club side Freiburg ahead of Tunisia`s African Nations Cup campaign in Mali and Michel swore the striker would never play for the Eagles of Carthage while he was in charge.
Michel resigned in March, however, and with Tunisia failing to score for six games, Sellimi was invited back.
There was disappointment, though, for midfielder Oussama Sellami, who was ruled out after breaking his foot in Saturday`s 2-1 friendly defeat to Japanese club side Oita Trinita
Tunisia, who have been drawn in Group H with Russia, Belgium and co-hosts Japan, had already lost the services of Skander Souayah, who failed a drugs test, and captain Chokri El Ouaer, due to a back injury.
Tunisia squad:
Goalkeepers: Boumnijel (Bastia), Bejaoui (C.A.Bizertin), Jaouachi (U.S.Monastir),
Defenders: Thabet, Jaidi, Badra, Clayton (all Esperance), Mkademi, Mkacher (both E.S.Sahel), Marzouki (Club Africain), Bouzaiene (Genoa), Hatem Trabelsi (Ajax)
Midfielders : Ghodhbane (E.S.Sahel), Melki (Esperance), Baya (Besiktas), Gabsi, Mhedhebi (both Genoa) Ben Achour (Martigues), Bouazizi (Bursaspor)
