Okocha disagrees with coach
Nigeria captain Jay Jay Okocha believes his coach Festus Onigbinde has made some blunders in his 23-man World Cup squad.
Striker Finidi George along with Sunday Oliseh and Victor Agali have been left out of the party for Japan and South Korea.
Finidi has struggled with injuries during his first season in the English Premiership with Ipswich, while Oliseh and Agali have both fallen out with the Nigerian Football Association.
All three were not included in the preliminary squad that secured warm-up wins over the Republic of Ireland and Jamaica.
Nigeria earn narrow win
But Okocha still believes the trio could have made a contribution to Nigeria`s World Cup campaign.
"Well I think it is difficult for those players to miss out," he said. "It`s unlucky for them because they are good players.
"You have to respect the decision of the coach but my opinion is that they should have been included in the squad."
Agali`s refusal to attend a training camp in Ireland last week looks to have cost him a place, while Oliseh led a player revolt at the African Nations Cup earlier this year.
Oliseh keeps silent
Despite the absentees Okocha is confident that Nigeria are capable of making it through the so-called group of death.
"It`s difficult to say how we will do because we are in a very tough group with England, Argentina and Sweden," Okocha said about being drawn in Group F.
"But we are confident that we can at least qualify from the group. That would be a great achievement for us."Hits: 1 | Source:BBC
