Danes wouldn`t mind `lucky` defeat
Denmark go into Friday night`s game against Cameroon looking for a confidence-boosting win, but even a defeat against the Africans could be seen as positive result by more superstitious fans.
The Danes say goodbye to their home crowd before a packed Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, who will be expecting their team to give them hope after a mixed World Cup build-up.
In a less than convincing performance in Jeddah, the Danes won 1-0 against Saudi Arabia, then followed that with a 3-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland in Dublin, where they were without key players through injury.
Then came a 3-1 home win over Israel, when Denmark were again less than convincing, and the pressure is now on Morten Olsen`s men to deliver.
However, for the superstitious, a defeat against Cameroon is no disaster. Denmark lost 2-1 at home to Cameroon in their last warm-up game before the 1998 World Cup - and went on to reach the quarter-finals.
Olsen is expected to be without Schalke striker Ebbe Sand, who has a swollen ankle, while central defender Martin Laursen of AC Milan is not yet completely fit after an ankle injury.
Peter Madsen from Brondby and Christian Poulsen from FC Copenhagen are likely to be rested after playing the last game of the season for their clubs on Thursday night.
Denmark: (probable) Sorensen, Helveg, Henriksen, Lustu, Heintze, Tofting, Gravesen, Rommedahl, Gronkjaer, Tomasson, Lovenkrands
