Boli offered coaching role at Marseille
Marseille have turned for help to former defender Basile Boli, who they want to add to the coaching staff at the Velodrome. "Bernard Tapie asked me if I could bring my experience to the club. He needs someone he can count on," said 34-year-old.
Boli is considering the offer, but added that he was likely to accept. "The head coach Tomislav Ivic needs people around him to be able to work well and the players need reference points," he said.
Marseille narrowly avoided relegation to the second division last season and have made a disastrous start to this campaign, taking just two points from five games.
Tapie has sacked three coaches since April before re-appointing the veteran Ivic, who had resigned from the job just three days before the beginning of this season.
Boli played a total of 396 matches for Auxerre, Marseille and Monaco, winning the French first division title with Marseille in 1991 and 1992.
He won the Scottish title with Rangers in 1995 and famously head-butted England defender Stuart Pearce at Euro 92.
