Fulham have continued their summer recruitment drive by setting up a move for Bologna`s Cameroon international defender Pierre Wome.
Wome had contract talks with Fulham officials at their Motspur Park training ground on Monday.
The 23-year-old has completed a medical and is expected to become Jean Tigana`s fifth summer signing by the weekend.
He will join Junichi Inamoto, Martin Djetou, Facundo Sava and goalkeeper Martin Herrera in the squad for the new Premiership campaign.
Wome played in all three of Cameroon`s group games at the World Cup.
But he has been unable to pin
down a regular starting place with Bologna and was not expected to be first choice under coach Francesco Guidolin next season.
He made just 46 appearances in three seasons after previous spells in Italy with Vicenza, Lucchese, Roma and Bologna.
Wome may struggle to force his way into Tigana`s starting line-up as he will be competing with Rufus Brevett and Jon Harley for the left-back spot.
The progress of the transfer has been delayed by Fulham`s Intertoto Cup semi-final second leg clash with Sochaux in France.
But Fulham officials are confident he will complete his move on Thursday.
