A player from Cameroonian club Racing Bafoussam has been sentenced to six months imprisonment.
The sentence was handed down to Pierre Youmsi by a court in Bafoussam after he was found guilty of assault and making death threats.
The player reportedly became involved in a quarrel over a piece of land between his father and another man, Gerard
Ndiffo.
After the initial argument two years ago, Youmsi decided that his father had been cheated and beat up Ndiffo.
The defender, who helped Racing Bafoussam to finish as runners up in the Cameroonian league, will now miss the start of next season, including their involvement in the African Champions League.
