Wolves end Kameni interest
Wolves have ended their interest in Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni. The Midlands outfit were poised to recruit Kameni on a one-year loan deal, but they called off his medical at the last minute.
"After further discussions with the player and his representatives, we have decided to withdraw," chief executive Jez Moxey told the club website.
"We won´t be pursuing the move any further as we have doubts over Kameni´s commitment, and we don´t intend to sign anyone for Wolves who is less than 100% committed to coming here."
The news is a setback for Wolves boss Dave Jones, who is still hoping to conclude deals for three other players.
Sunderland defender Jody Craddock is being linked to a £1.7m move to Mollineux.
And striker Steffen Iversen´s touted transfer from Tottenham is edging towards completion.
Jones is also expected to sign Senegal star Henri Camara for £1.5m from Sedan.
The French club were relegated last season despite 14 goals from the 26-year-old striker, who Wolves have offered a four-year deal.
"Signing Henri is still subject to him passing a medical and agreeing personal terms," manager Dave Jones said.
"But if everything goes to plan then he will be a fantastic addition to the squad.
"We are signing him as a striker but he can play in any forward position. He has lightning pace and that´s going to be a massive asset for us in the Premiership."
Camara had a successful World Cup with Senegal and scored a memorable golden goal winner for the Africans in the second round against Sweden.
