BILONG ON TRIAL
sportinglife.com
Hibernian boss Tony Mowbray has handed a trial to former Cameroon defender Michel Pensee Bilong.
The 32-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving MK Dons last season, played in Hibs` 4-1 win at Berwick Rangers on Tuesday night.
The 6ft 4in centre-back already has one of the most varied CVs in football, having played in Japan, Korea and Portugal.
He also had a spell in Russia and played for Anzhi Makhachkala against Rangers in the UEFA Cup in 2001. That game was played in neutral Poland in the wake of the September 11 attacks, with Rangers scraping home 1-0.
Bilong`s international career saw him pick up more than 30 caps and he was in the Cameroon World Cup squad in France in 1998.
At Berwick, Derek Riordan hit a hat-trick, with Scotland striker Garry O`Connor netting the other goal.
