Geremi won`t be returning to Boro

Middlesbrough have ruled out suggestions that they are planning to lure former loan signing Geremi back to the Riverside from Chelsea.

Geremi spent a season on loan at the Teesside club earlier in his career.

He then turned down a permanent move to Boro but has struggled to become an established first-team member at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old almost invited the club to make him an offer earlier this week when he said: "The option of Middlesbrough is excellent because they are a high-level club and I have already played there.

"I would go there happily if they made me a good offer."

But Boro chief executive Keith Lamb has played down the link, with the club`s website stating: "Lamb has confirmed that Boro have no interest in bringing Geremi back to the Riverside."
