ATOUBA OUT FOR `SEVERAL MONTHS`
Hamburg defender Timothee Atouba has been ruled out for several months after tearing his Achilles tendon.
The full-back picked up the injury to his left Achilles late in his side`s 2-1 UEFA Cup win at Zilina on Thursday.
An MRI scan on Friday confirmed the extent of the injury.
Hamburg team doctor Oliver Dierk told the club`s official website: "Timothee will have to rest for several months."
The Cameroon international will undergo an operation in the coming days.
Coach Martin Jol added: "That is a bitter piece of news for Timi - and of course for us as well.
"He had shown in the recent games that he is an excellent left-back."
