Foe set to leave Man City
Manchester City´s loan signing Marc-Vivien Foe looks set to see out the remaining year of his contract with French club Lyon.
City boss Kevin Keegan had hoped to land the Cameroon midfielder on a permanent basis after a successful season-long loan stint at Maine Road.
But Lyon are refusing to lower their £7m valuation for the 28-year-old, who will be available for free under the Bosman Ruling in 12 months´ time.
Foe was keen to stay with City but, after talks with Lyon officials, he appears to be set for a Champions League campaign with the French club next season.
"Marc is open-minded about what he is going to do but at this stage it seems most likely he will stay at Lyon for the final year of his contract," said Foe´s agent Willie McKay.
"He has spoken with the Lyon president, who is quite keen to have him back, and Marc also knows he will have the opportunity of playing in the Champions League.
"He likes Manchester City but he needs more long-term commitment."
If no deal can be agreed this summer, Keegan insisted he would be keen to move back in for Foe when his contract finally expires at Lyon.
Foe joined Lyon from West Ham for £600,000 in May 2000 and arrived on loan at Maine Road in July last year.
He made 35 league appearances for Man City and scored nine goals.
