Cotonsport distance self on the league table
The national elite championship last Sunday entered the 25th playing day with league leader Cotonsport of Garoua scoring a 3 – 1 home victory over Racing of Bafoussam.
It was Cotonsport first encounter and first victory since the team management change hands two weeks ago.
Contrary to the one point gap from rival Tonnerre after the 24th playing day, Cotonsport now have a four points lead.
At the bottom of the league table, the way down to the second division for Girondins of Ngaoundere is open. Placed last on the league with17 points, the club from Ngaoundere has five days to bid bye from the elite championship.
They will be followed by two other club whose identity would be unfolded after the five remaining confrontations.
