Tunisia target Scala
Despite problems with Francesco Scoglio the FTF again looks to Italy
The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has confirmed his interest in acquiring the services of Nevio Scala, the former coach of Turkish club Besiktas.
Scala has confirmed his interest in the job: "It is always an honour to coach a national team" he said.
"It is not a matter of money but I want to see how the work could be carried out."
The Tunisians are looking for a replacement for German coach Eckhard Krautzen who was sacked on 20 August.
He and the FTF had failed to reach agreement over preparations for the African Nations Cup and World Cup tournaments next year.
Eckhard Krautzen was appointed last March after the dismissal of Francesco Scoglio, who left to join Italian second division club Genoa.
Scala, who in the past has managed Italian side Parma and German club Borussia Dortmund is expected in Tunisia next week to enter negotiations with FTF officials.
Former AC Milan manager Alberto Zaccheroni has also been named in connection with the Tunisia job.
Zaccheroni was sacked at the end of last season and is looking for a contract.
