Nkong claims Spurs interest
by Joseph Caron Dawe, 12 February 2008
The African Cup of Nations often provides a shop window for players hoping to display their wares to European clubs, and Cameroon midfielder Alain Nkong claims to have aroused the interest of Tottenham.
The 28-year-old currently plies his trade with Mexican side Atlante, and having played in Spain, Uruguay, Portugal and the US a switch to The Premier League looks like it could be on the cards.
However, after scoring the winning goal for Cameroon in their ACN semi-final victory over Ghana, Nkong says he will not consider a transfer until he has been made a concrete offer from the North Londoners.
"Since the African Nations Cup I have received calls from more agents than I`ve ever had in my life," he explained.
"One of them was from Tottenham, but my experiences have made me distrustful.
"That`s why I don`t employ an agent because I have never found the right person.
"I will listen to concrete offers on my own. If there really is something, then I will go."
