Morocco put Senegal on trial
New Senegal coach Guy Stephan will use a hastily-arranged friendly against Morocco to cast an eye over his new team.
Senegal will play the Atlas Lions on 12 February in the French capital Paris, which will be Stephan`s first match in charge.
"It will be my first serious contact with the players, and a great opportunity to see them in a match situation," Stephan told BBC Sport Online.
"I am going to name a large squad and it will be a chance to have a good look at the players available to me."
Stephan`s first squad will be a long way from full strength.
Defenders Omar Daf, Ferdinand Coly, Lamine Diatta and midfielder Pape Bouba Diop are all injured.
"It`s very annoying," Stephan confessed.
"It is particularly a problem as many of these injuries are long term ones, but it is just something we will have to adapt to."
The match against Morocco, which will take place in the Charlety stadium, will be Senegal`s only friendly before their crucial Nations Cup qualifier in March, away to neighbours Gambia.
Stephan is determined to make every effort to prepare well for that match.
"I am going to spend a lot of time talking with the technical staff, and a lot of time watching the players," he said.
"I will travel to France and to England to watch players, and we will do everything necessary to do well in what will be a very difficult match."
