Cameroon march on
Cameroon are a step closer to the 2003 Under 17 Nations` Cup finals after beating Senegal 1-0 in Yaounde.
The precious victory means that a draw in the second leg, to be played in Dakar in two weeks time, would be enough for the young Cameroonians to qualify for the finals.
Unlike Senegal Guinea seem strong bets to qualify, after they dismantled Mozambique 3-0.
Egypt will also fancy their chances, after they went to Lilongwe and beat Malawi 1-0.
In an East African clash Ethiopia beat Kenya 2-0, but with the return to come in Kenya the tie remains balanced.
That is also the case between Gambia and Zambia.
Zambia have to be favourites to progress after holding the West Africans to a 1-1 draw in Banjul.
The finals will be played in Swaziland.
Results, final qualifying round, first leg
Cameroon 1-0 Senegal
