Song Bahanag to bid-by from Lions after World Cup
Cameroon’s international defender and captain of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song Bahanag, has said he plans to retire from international football after next summer`s World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea.
The defender, who just returned from the first regrouping of the Cameroon national team in Bayern (Germany), ahead of the African Nations Cup says he will want to concentrate fully on club (West Ham) career.
"I want to stop, I have one more World Cup for which we have already qualified, so I don`t have any more games again after that," Song said.
The former Liverpool (England) defender who was highly solicited at the start of the season by his former club Metz and Lyon all of France, holds the infamous record of being the only and youngest player to be sent off in the last two World Cup final tournaments in the USA and France.
After the world cup, the Cameroonian captain who contributed enormously for his country’s lifting of the 2000 African Nations cup co-hosted by Ghana and Nigeria intends to stay and win a place in West Ham, where he has been mostly warming the bench.
