Pele, others confirm participation in Milla’s birthday
celebrations Pele, the world’s football legend is among some 20 other soccer celebrities who have responded favourably to Roger Milla’s 50th birthday invitation.
The Brazilian has confirmed he will be present in Cameroon next month, CN consulting, the firm organising the event, has told The Herald.
The CN consulting director, Christian Ngalle said in his Douala office that Pele would touch Cameroonian
soil for the first time.
Among foreign football star personalities expected are the incumbent FIFA president Joseph Sepp Blatter, Da Silva Ferreira, Hary Ramzy, George Weah, Karl-Heing Rummenigge, Hossam Hassan, Basile Boli and Michel Platini.
Cameroonian veteran players such as Jean-Pierre
Tokoto, Thomas Nkono, Michel Kaham and Emmanuel Kunde
have also accepted Milla’s invitation. Many more
confirmation letters were still awaited from other
stars like Bobby Charlton, Georghe Hagi, Jean-Pierre
Papin, among others.
Ngalle said Milla’s birthday offered the ideal
opportunity to bring together football personalities
from around the world. He said Milla’s fame was
respected more abroad than at home. The event which
has been programmed from 10-15 May will take place in
Douala and Yaounde.
