French first division reports
PARIS
Reports of French first division soccer matches played on Wednesday:
OLYMPIQUE LYON 0 BASTIA 0
Olympique Lyon missed their chance to gain ground on leaders RC Lens after Bastia held them to a goalless draw. Lyon, who have not been beaten at home this season, were frustrated by a sharp performance from Bastia goalkeeper Nicolas Penneteau, who also blocked a penalty.
The result left the title-chasers still second, seven points behind Lens.
LILLE 2 GIRONDINS BORDEAUX 2
Pedro Pauleta put Bordeaux ahead in the 30th minute after a foul by Lille`s Mathieu Delpierre. But the northern team battled back with an impressive 71st minute lob from striker Djezon Boutoille.
Pauleta got a goal back for Bordeaux in the 77th minute but Lille equalised two minutes from time when defender Pascal Cygan neatly headed home a corner.
MONTPELLIER 1 MONACO 1
Shabani Nonda struck in the 26th minute for in-form Monaco, who were without inspirational midfielder Marcelo Gallardo, but Jean Christophe Rouviere struck back in injury time for Montpellier, in a match postponed from December.
TROYES 2 METZ 0
Troyes took the lead in the 47th minute when Patrice Loko took advantage of a fumbling Metz defence to slam home a goal. Striker Nicolas Gousse finished the job in the 69th minute, converting a neat Loko pass and blasting into the corner of the net.
The defeat was a further setback for Metz, mired near the bottom of the table, although they still have three games in hand after the recent bad weather.
AJ AUXERRE 2 LORIENT 2
Striker Djibrill Cisse gave Auxerre an early lead with a goal in the third minute. Philippe Mexes scored again in the 53rd minute, following a five minute interruption when fog stopped play.
Lorient fought back with a 71st minute goal from Jean-Claude Darcheville, who slotted the ball home with a neat back-heel, before hitting his second to equalise in extra time.
