Achille Emana set for move to German Bundesliga
Real Betis midfielder Achille Emana looks set to leave the club this summer, with a number of German sides ready to take the Cameroon international to the Bundesliga. In what was a dreadful season for the Verdiblancos that ultimately resulted in relegation, Emana was one of the few bright sparks amidst many lacklustre displays. His powerful running and goals from midfield led to him being included in Goal.com’s La Liga team of the season, and now that Betis face second division football, the 27-year old may be ready to consider a move to pastures new.German daily publication Bild reports that Hamburg, Stuttgart and Schalke are all monitoring the situation, and, although Betis owner Manuel Ruiz de Lopera has insisted that he will do his utmost to keep key players at the club, any substantial bid could tempt Lopera into considering selling the player.Betis paid €7m to French club Toulouse in 2008 to bring Emana to Andalusia, and any bid in the region of this amount from Germany could see the powerful midfielder move on again this summer.
Real Betis were dramatically relegated on the final day of the Spanish season, after they could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Valladolid while Osasuna sensationally defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in Pamplona to survive.
