Drogba injured for Ivory Coast (06.09.2007)
Didier Drogba will miss the Gabon qualifier due to an injured knee
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been left out of the Ivory Coast squad for their Nations Cup qualifier in Gabon.
The 29-year-old has a bruised knee sustained in the recent 2-0 Premier League defeat against Aston Villa.
Drogba has been replaced in the squad by Racing Lens striker Aruna Dindane for Saturday`s Group One fixture.
Reading midfielder Emerse Fae and French-based striker Bakary Kone were also recalled to the 18-man team by German coach Uli Stielike.
The Ivorians will qualify for next year`s finals in Ghana if they avoid a six-goal defeat.
