Five home-based players in Cameroon World Cup squad (09.06.2005)
YAOUNDE, Cameroon coach Artur Jorge has included five home-based players in his 23-strong training squad for their home World Cup qualifier against Libya on June 19.
Goalkeeper Amour Patrick Tignyemb, midfielder Patrice Nzekou Nguenheu, defenders Pierre Patrick Seme and Alexis Enam Mendom, and forward Denis Arthur Mbougui Dourandi will start training on Sunday.
They join the 18-strong squad that scored a 4-1 victory over Benin in Cotonou last Saturday.
That victory narrowed the gap between the Cameroon and Group C leaders from the Ivory Coast to two points after the latter drew 0-0 against Libya last Friday, reviving Cameroon`s hopes of qualifying for next year`s finals.
"Now our destiny is in our hands,"the Portuguese coach Jorge told state radio after Saturday`s match.
"We had a good game against Benin, but we have to do better.
